Individuals You can support fairtrade by purchasing it where you can, and asking for fairtrade products where you can’t. Join a fairtrade group- the Shropshire Fairtrade Coalition (SFC) will be able to put you in touch with your nearest group. Businesses and Community Organisations Serve fairtrade in your workplaces and events, let people know you are serving it and tell them why. If you register with the SFC, we will list you in our forthcoming Shropshire fairtrade directory, and on our website. ‘Going fairtrade’ can also help fulfil the requirements of corporate social responsibility. Retail and Catering Outlets If you already supply fairtrade, please register with us. This will help us qualify for fairtrade status. We will also list you in a Shropshire fairtrade directory and on our website. The SFC will be able to put you in touch with your nearest wholesaler. The Practicalities The SFC will be able to put you in touch with your nearest wholesaler, retail outlet or fairtrade group and can generally offer support and advice. We may also be able to help with publicity and provide a speaker. The Fairtrade Foundation (www.fairtrade.org.uk, 02074 055942) supplies stickers and other publicity materials and is a good source of support and information. |
